CHARACTERISTICS OF MARBLE
• Our marble is finished by hand and sealed for longevity
• Distinctive veins, markings and color variations are unique to each piece
CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF MARBLE
• Although our marble furniture is sealed before shipping, the material is still porous by nature and can be stained, scratched or chipped.
• Always blot spills immediately and rinse with a clean, damp cloth.
• Do not place hot items directly on the marble.
• To prevent ring marks, place coasters or trivets under glasses and dishes; use mats or runners beneath hard objects that might scratch the surface.
• Dust frequently with a clean, soft cloth.
• Wash periodically with a cloth dampened with warm water and if necessary, a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid or stone soap. Use a second
damp cloth to thoroughly remove the soap.
• Do not use chemical cleansers, sprays, abrasive cleaners, furniture polish or products that contain lemon, vinegar or other acids.
• The use of a resealer, such as More™ Premium Stone Sealer, is recommended. Apply once a year or as needed.
CHARACTERISTICS OF TRAVERTINE
• Handcrafted of vein-cut natural travertine.
• Honed and sealed for a satin finish with visible pitting that reveals the beauty and character of each piece.
• Inherent variations in travertine color, texture and veining, as well as variance resulting from the hand finishing process, are to be expected and
celebrated. No two items will be exactly alike.
• Travertine has natural pitting of varied location that adds to the stone’s character. Larger pits are filled; smaller holes are left unfilled. Pits on tabletop
will be smaller than on base.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF TRAVERTINE
• Wash periodically with a clean, damp cloth. If necessary, a small amount of mild dishwashing liquid may be used.
• Travertine has natural pitting that can collect debris; dust regularly or use a handheld vacuum, or a soft-bristled brush with water and mild soap.
• Avoid the use of harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning materials.
• The use of a resealer, such as More™ Premium Stone Sealer, is recommended. Apply once a year or as needed.
• Use placemats or trivets under hot items and coasters under beverages to prevent marks and stains.
• Protect the surface from acidic substances like wine, coffee, fruit juice and tomato sauce.
• Wipe spills immediately with a soft, dry cloth.
• As a natural and porous material, travertine can be nicked, stained or scratched; avoid placing sharp or heavy objects on surface.
