Our partnership with the British Heart Foundation
Statistics indicate that in the UK, a substantial amount of furniture ranging from 1.6 million to 22 million tonnes, in good condition, is discarded annually. This furniture possesses the potential for reuse, rehoming, selling, or donation. Findings from a British Heart Foundation (BHF) shop survey reveal that a significant proportion of consumers choose to dispose of their unwanted furniture rather than donating or recycling.
The primary reasons cited include a lack of means for transportation (20%), a desire to quickly eliminate items (16%), or a preference for the convenience of dumping them (9%).
If you've recently made a purchase from DC Concept and find yourself in need of a service to collect your old or existing furniture at no cost, ensuring it is recycled in an environmentally friendly manner, we have the perfect solution for you. Our offering is not only hassle-free and sustainable but, most importantly, aligns with a charitable cause through our partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
How does it work?
01
Purchase new furniture from DC Concept either through their online platform or in-store, and the British Heart Foundation will provide a complimentary service to collect your previously cherished furniture directly from your home, irrespective of its initial purchase location.
02
Easily schedule a free collection online through DC Concept in collaboration with the British Heart Foundation. Alternatively, if you prefer to arrange your furniture collection by phone, please contact the British Heart Foundation at their toll-free number: 0808 205 0233.
03
All the funds generated from the sale of your furniture will be directed towards supporting critical research and the development of treatments for heart disease, strokes, and vascular dementia.
What is required from you?
For furniture to be collected by the British Heart Foundation, it should be in a condition suitable for resale, without significant wear, stains, or tears. Additionally, any upholstered furniture must possess a valid fire safety label.
Collections are limited to the UK, and unfortunately, the BHF cannot collect furniture items located in Northern Ireland.
We appreciate your assistance in supporting this meaningful cause and for joining us in building a more sustainable future!
